The camp stove and carrying case are part of a basic package, but the accessories don’t stop there. Since this won’t be part of an ultralight backpack you can begin to use your imagination when thinking about which accessories to use.

How easy is it to clean and maintain the Solo Stove Titan?

Cleaning and maintaining the Titan camp stove is straightforward and easy and requires nothing more than dumping out the ash pan. Tip it over and it's done. If you want to maintain the outside of the stove, a mild stainless cleaner will work just fine.

How does the Titan camp stove perform in terms of cooking and heating?

Okay, let's be honest here for a minute and look at the amount of time it takes for 900 ml of water to boil. The average boil time for a gas fuel stove is give or take around 3 minutes, which by comparison the Titan will take around 8 mins.

At the end of the day, that isn’t a huge time difference and it would only matter if you were on a schedule and that's silly, you’re in the woods, relax!

While cooking will require a bit more work and the use of some extra accessories, it's a doable system that works. Simmering temperatures can be achieved with the Tripod, and in that respect a wood burner like the Titan would probably be a better option.

Bring the Pot 1800 into the mix and now you have a system that can be put to use to feed 2-3 people. When you travel in a small group you can split the cooking gear up between hikers and once you hit camp you have a complete setup to make your meals extra extraordinary.    

How easy is the setup of the Solo Stove Titan?

Once you pull it out of your backpack it's ready to go. No kidding, it's set up all in one piece, you just take it out of the carrying case, find some sticks, and pine cones, or carry along some hardwood and light it up.

Are the Solo Stove camp stoves smokeless?

Solo Stove Titan has the built-in technology to create a perfect fire without the smoke. Once you get the fire started, and once it's reached the right temperature the dual-wall vented system begins to work.

Air is vented in from the bottom which creates the initial combustion, then as the stove heats up the hot air pushes it to the top vents, which creates Solo Stoves secondary burn, which burns off the smoke.

Our Opinion

Taking everything into account and judging the Titan accordingly, we love our Titan. No, it’s not as light or compact as our hiking stove but there are obvious benefits. One of which is potentially unlimited fuel sources you don't have to carry. The added accessories which we divide up and to cook larger meals.

The tripod felt like a trip back to the olden days and was a fun way to simmer our coffee in the morning, and it really wasn't a big hassle to carry. We added the Pot 1800 for a couple of reasons, one being the Titan fits inside of it making the system more compact and secondly it holds more water than the Pot 900.

For an overnight with friends, you can split up the food you carry for a gourmet dinner cooked on an open fire. That was the icing on the cake for a great camping weekend.
