Product Description
Rose gardening can be relaxing and fun. However, without adequate protection, you will be left with scratches all over your arms. Besides being painful, cuts from rose spines are quite dangerous. Sporotrichosis (rose gardener's disease) can be a more serious consequence of getting scratched by rose spines. This is especially true in people with thin, delicate skin.
Exemplary Garden Rose Pruning Gloves are made out of premium quality goatskin leather. The gauntlet portion is made out of cowhide suede and reaches until the elbows. Hence, these gardening gloves offer full hand and arm protection keeping you safe whilst pruning your roses.

I have very large hands, and usually XL is on the small side. These XL gloves fit very comfortably. I used them to trim dead branches from some palm trees that are very prickly with sharp pointy leaves that resemble needles. They are very protective, yet at the same time the fingers are thin and supple enough to give me good dexterity while using clippers. The leather extending up my forearms is thick cowhide.
I saw some similar type "Stihl" brand rose bush gloves for a similar price at a local Ace Hardware store, but the forearm protection is a canvas type cloth, not leather. They got style points for the name, but I suspect these are better quality.
I would definitely buy these gloves again, and would recommend to anyone wanting top quality gloves for gardening.
These soft, truly Thorn Proof, EZ-on gloves are quite simply the best. They slip on easily and stay put. Others I've owned had annoying straps that would come loose. Not to mention these gloves are made of steel. Not to big or floppy; like real gloves but for gardening...but made of steel.
Yesterday, I was able to load the clippings I pruned off the Beast and push them into the wheelbarrow with my Gloved Hands. Then I shoved them into the recycler with my Gloved Hands. Did I mention these gloves are made of the softest steel fabric ever invented? They call it Thorn Proof Goatskin.
This is an honest company who delivers on all their claims. I recommend these gloves wholeheartedly, you will not be disappointed. Fabulous price, when you receive them you'll realize you'd expect to pay more for this type of quality. I've conquered the Beast; she's once again my Beauty.
They are beautiful...my boyfriend loves them!

For heavy garden work / as a job, they are not proof against tough thorns when grabbing and pulling briars or packing lots of rose stems into a container: they help, but you will still get some thorn tips poking through (Gloves with kevlar palms are the ones for that).
Store these in a canvas bag or wooden box, never plastic or exposed to breeze. If you are prone to leaving them in a damp heap somewhere, these may not be the gloves for you.
Do not get them dirty with soil, nor lots of chlorophyll by wearing them to pull weeds: they are for handing thorny plants.
Try one pair and if you are happy, buy one more pair so you always give them 48 hours to air out between each day of use. They should last a lot longer (more than double, hopefully...)
I rate them highly because I prune roses & a few other thorny shrubs at work a lot, and I only really use them for that : I use cheap rubber palm cotton gloves as much as possible, and switch to my kevlar gloves for heavy work with brambles etc. All tucked in me belt for easy access.
Great product but not cheap.
